Shore Buddies mission is to bring sustainability into play, to keep Plastics out of the Oceans. They make stuffed animals from recycled plastic bottles from the ocean, both for the stuffing and for the soft outside.
Plastic bottles are collected from the ocean and sorted by recyclable collectors, they are then cleaned and shredded into plastic flakes. Some of these flakes are used for the Shore Buddies’ stuffing, others get melted and turned into polyester yarn for the soft outside.
This is to remind us not to throw plastic into the ocean, helping to protect animal species that we all love, like turtles, whales and dolphins.
